EBRD blue 15mm (E)_CropThe European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has made a significant stride towards greater openness by starting to publish data on its operations to the IATI Standard.

The EBRD has started by making available data on its investment operations signed this year and key documents about its activity. Transparency and accountability have been key principles guiding the EBRD’s work since its establishment in 1991 and occupy a prominent place in its Public Information Policy.

“This is an important moment for the EBRD and its commitment to openness and transparency in our modern digital world,” said Sir Suma Chakrabarti, the EBRD’s President.

“Making this information public to IATI standards will help our shareholders, business partners, friends in civil society and the Bank itself gain an even better understanding of what we do and its impact.”

We are delighted that the EBRD has now started publishing data to IATI. Joining similar organisations such as the European Investment Bank and PIDG, it’s a positive step forward that the EBRD is opening up information on its activities to give data users a fuller picture of the wide range of resources going into development cooperation globally. We look forward to continuing to work with the EBRD to increase the quality and quantity of the data they share.
