This month The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the World Food Programme (WFP) became the latest preeminent international aid organisations to sign up to the International Aid Transparency Initiative (IATI), signalling their commitment to transparency and agreed common, open and international standards in the publication of aid data. This takes the total number of IATI signatories to 33 organisations.

OCHA and WFP join a long list of other UN agencies including UNDPUNOPS, UNHABITAT and UNCDF who have also signed up to IATI.

OCHA is responsible for bringing together humanitarian actors to ensure a coherent response to humanitarian emergencies, ensuring there is a framework for an effective overall response. WFP is the food aid arm of the UN, and through targeted interventions help to improve the lives of the world’s poorest people.

We warmly welcome OCHA and WFP to the IATI community and will provide updates on any further news and publications of IATI data from these organisations.
