Madagascar become 22nd country to endorse IATI

  • Aug. 2, 2011

The Madagascan Prime Minister has today announced that the country will endorse the International Aid Transparency Initiative.

This makes Madagascar the 22nd country to endorse the initiative.

On endorsing IATI, the Madagascan government said they are interested in joining a platform where people can exchange experiences on managing aid. Furthermore, they are happy to adhere to the objectives of IATI and hope to make use of the tools and frameworks which will let them improve the efficiency of aid to Madagascar. They look forward to using the initiative to reinforce the measures which the government undertook in 2008.

We welcome Madagascar to the initiative and look forward to working with them in the future to make information about aid spending easier to find, use and compare.
