World Bank are latest donor to publish to IATI
The Bank is the third aid provider to publish to the standard. This shows, alongside earlier data releases from bi-lateral agencies and philanthropic foundations, that it’s possible for all types of organisations to be IATI compliant. It also means that the Bank’s data is now in a more accessible format than ever. The Bank first opened its data up a year ago and since then has seen a huge surge of interest in it from the public.
In this first iteration, the Bank has released its organisation file and 143 activity files, with this data broken down by country. There is a high level of detail in the project description files and the full breakdowns of sector classifications.
The IATI registry will index this data, which will be published in a raw .xml format. The registry acts as a central reference point for all data published by IATI signatories.
